What happens if I don’t pass the PE exam?
We are the only PE exam prep provider with a fair retake!
If you do not pass the PE exam, you’re covered by our Retake Guarantee.
Eligible students receive a complimentary re-enrollment in our online program. The length of your complimentary re-enrollment depends on your enrollment type and must be activated within 6 calendar months of your PE exam date.
Most competitors require 90%+ completion of their exam prep materials, perfect live class attendance, and a minimum passing score of 90% on all study materials.
These requirements are set up to make it nearly impossible to qualify for a retake. Miss one live class because of a work deadline or family emergency, and you lose your retake. Don’t take one quiz? No retake. Score 50% on a quiz? No retake.
We think these are unfair and unreasonable requirements.
Our retake requires ZERO course completion, ZERO class attendance, and ZERO minimum passing score on any of our study materials.
The eligibility requirements and rules that do apply are outlined below.
Eligibility
- You must have at least 2 consecutive paid months (without any gaps in enrollment) on the Monthly Subscription Plan, or be enrolled in the Unlimited Package.
- If your Monthly Subscription Plan expires before you renew, your consecutive paid month count starts over.
- You must take the PE exam within one calendar month of your enrollment expiration date. Example: Your enrollment expires on January 11; your exam must be taken by February 11.
- There is no penalty for taking the PE exam before your enrollment expires.
- Enrollment renewals or purchases made on or after your PE exam date do not count toward your Retake Guarantee.
How much complimentary access you get
- Monthly Subscription Plan: Complimentary re-enrollment access equals your number of consecutive paid months (without any gaps in enrollment) leading up to the exam you did not pass, up to a maximum of 6 months.
- Unlimited Package: A flat 6 months (183 days) of complimentary re-enrollment.
What’s included in your complimentary re-enrollment
Your complimentary re-enrollment is a full paid re-enrollment into the online program associated with your eligible paid enrollment.
It includes everything that a paid enrollment includes, including the live class, course updates, and any new or revised study material released during your new enrollment period.
Upgrading or extending your enrollment
- Unlimited Package Upgrade: If you upgrade your enrollment from the Monthly Subscription Plan to the Unlimited Package before taking the PE exam, your Retake Guarantee is also upgraded. If you later qualify for a retake, you will receive the full 6-month (183-day) complimentary re-enrollment, just as if you had originally purchased the Unlimited Package.
- Unlimited Package extensions: Extending your Unlimited Package does not increase the length of your complimentary re-enrollment beyond 6 months (183 days). However, it does extend your enrollment expiration date, which also extends the deadline by which you must take the PE exam to remain eligible for the Retake Guarantee.

Deadlines & rules
- Activation deadline: You must start your complimentary re-enrollment within 6 calendar months of your PE exam date (based on the date shown on your NCEESĀ® Verification Link, not the date you notify us), by midnight (12:00 AM) UTC. UTC stands for Coordinated Universal Time zone. Convert UTC to your local time.
- Once started, your complimentary re-enrollment runs consecutively and cannot be paused, extended, or split into multiple enrollment periods.
- The Retake Guarantee may be redeemed once for one complimentary re-enrollment per eligible paid enrollment.
Examples
Unlimited Package: If you do not pass the PE exam on January 7, you will receive a Retake Guarantee re-activation link for 6 complimentary months. You must start your complimentary re-enrollment by midnight (12:00 AM) UTC on July 7.
Monthly Subscription Plan: If you do not pass the PE exam on January 7 after 3 consecutive paid months, you will receive a Retake Guarantee re-activation link for 3 complimentary months. You must start your complimentary re-enrollment by midnight (12:00 AM) UTC on July 7.
How to claim it
If you do not pass the PE exam, NCEESĀ® will provide you with a Verification Link that confirms your exam results.
Your NCEESĀ® Verification Link is required to claim your Retake Guarantee.
You must email your NCEESĀ® Verification Link before the 6-month activation deadline listed above.
Send your NCEESĀ® Verification Link to zach@electricalpereview.com. Once we verify your eligibility, we’ll send you your Retake Guarantee re-activation link.
Fair but firm
Our Retake Guarantee is one of the most generous in the industry. To keep it fair for everyone, the policy is firm. Failing to meet any eligibility requirement or rule outlined above will result in ineligibility for a complimentary re-enrollment. Exceptions will not be made for work or personal conflicts.
