Meet Your Instructor
Electrical PE Review was founded by Zach Stone, P.E., a licensed Professional Engineer and one of the most recognized instructors for the NCEESĀ® Electrical and Computer: Power PE exam.
Since 2014, Zach has helped thousands of engineers prepare for the Power PE exam through comprehensive review courses, live online classes, practice exams, and study resources. His teaching philosophy focuses on building a strong understanding of the underlying concepts so students have the confidence to solve unfamiliar problems on exam day.

Where Do I Start?
As soon as you enroll, you’ll receive an onboarding email with your account details and instructions for the current semester. From there:
- Watch the welcome video included in your onboarding email.
- Attend Class #1: How to Pass the PE Exam live, or watch the recording if you can’t make it. I recommend watching this class before you do anything else.
The On-Demand Review Course and Live Classes follow different structures:
- The On-Demand Review Course follows the NCEESĀ® Exam Specifications, which makes it easy to navigate and use as a reference.
- Live classes follow a different order, one that starts with the fundamentals and builds from there.
- Our program blends the two together, using the On-Demand Review Course modules as pre-work you complete before each live class.
Class #1 walks you through the syllabus and shows you how to combine the On-Demand modules with each live class for the most comprehensive approach to your preparation. It also covers study strategies and test-taking strategies specific to the Power PE exam, ones worth practicing as early as possible.

Recommended Study Schedule
One of the most common questions we receive is, “How much should I study each week?”
The first class of the semester, Class #1: How to Pass the PE Exam covers this in detail. The recommended hours per week we share are based on thousands of exit interviews with prior students, and the class walks you through how to prepare for the mental marathon that is the PE exam.
Every student’s schedule is different, but consistent study habits produce the best results. Setting aside dedicated study time each week is much more effective than trying to cram shortly before the exam.
Following a structured study plan helps you cover every exam topic before test day while reducing stress and burnout.
Student Dashboard Overview
You can access your student dashboard at any time after logging in. You’re automatically taken to it when you log in, and you can always return to it by clicking on Student Dashboard in the top menu.
The student dashboard includes all paid study materials included with your enrollment:
- Class recordings
- On-Demand Review Course
- Practice exams
- Boot Camps
- Additional study resources
Each study product is organized in its own course portal. You can launch each individual course portal by clicking on the specific course portal card from within the student dashboard.
Exam Approved Calculator
The NCEESĀ® Power PE exam only allows approved calculators. If you recently took the FE exam then your calculator is likely on the approved list.
The two most popular calculators on the approved list used by most engineers that take the PE exam are:
- TI-36X Pro
- Casio FX-115 and Casio FX-991 models
Zach Stone, P.E. prefers the TI calculator and teaches with it on screen during every live class and in all class recordings. He’ll walk you through all of his tips and tricks for every problem type using the TI calculator. If you prefer a Casio calculator, it’s capable of all the same functions.
Using the same calculator throughout your exam preparation helps build speed, accuracy, and confidence. Be sure to refer to the official NCEES calculator policy to confirm your calculator is on the approved list.
NCEESĀ® Reference Handbook
The NCEESĀ® Reference Handbook is the only reference material (besides approved code books) you’ll have available during the PE exam. Becoming familiar with it and knowing where to find information quickly is essential for exam success.
Throughout the course, we help you build this familiarity. In every live class, we’ll reference exactly where to find each formula in the handbook. The same applies to all practice exams included with your enrollment. Every solution shows you where to locate each formula. This approach helps you build speed, confidence, and familiarity so you’ll know exactly how to use the handbook on exam day.

The NCEESĀ® Exam Specifications provides a detailed outline of every subject and topic covered on the PE exam, along with the approximate number of questions you’ll see for each topic. This document helps you understand the exam structure and focus your study time accordingly.

The Electrical PE Review Online Community is open to anyone studying for the PE exam.
You can access it by clicking on “Community” at the top of your student dashboard, or with the shortcut URL:
